My research expertise lies in the field of Environment and Society, with a focus on human-nature interactions. I am passionate about exploring the ground reality to gain scholarly knowledge and believe that natural resource conservation, natural resource-based livelihood generation, and the participation of the commons are integral parts of sustainable development goals.

Before joining IIT Kharagpur, I worked as a Research Assistant, Assistant Professor, and Research Fellow at the University of Nottingham, CSSS Calcutta, IDF, Renmin University of China, respectively. I have also been a visiting fellow at IIM Calcutta and have visited many other academic/research institutes.
A regular member of the National Level Monitoring (NLM) Programme conducted by the Ministry of Rural Development, Government of India.
