I'm thrilled to embark on this learning adventure with the students, families and wonderful staff at Somers Cooperative Preschool. As a graduate of Central Connecticut State University with a degree in Elementary Education and a Master's degree in Special Education, I am deeply committed to fostering a nurturing and enriching environment for young learners.
My husband and I live in Vernon with our four children - two girls and two boys. I spent nine fulfilling years teaching fourth grade before choosing to say home to care for my children. The next five years, I had the privilege of being a home daycare provider, which allowed me to connect with many wonderful families and their young children.
In my free time, I enjoy traveling, spending quality time with friends and family, and cheering on (and coaching) my kids in their various sports activities. I'm eagerly looking forward to building strong relationships with the families and students at Somers Cooperative Preschool.
Mrs. Lagassie
My first experience with Somers Cooperative Preschool was as a parent. I watched my children develop social and academic skills in a supportive and fun atmosphere. I had the pleasure of becoming the co-teacher at Somers Coop in 2023. It brings me joy to watch the students grow, make friends and learn new skills. In my free time, I enjoy raising chickens and bring my love of animals and nature in to the classroom. This past year, we hatched eggs and watched caterpillars turn in to butterflies.
