VAVOOM!
Somatics, Axis Syllabus and Contact Improvisation
with Scott Wells (US) and Sebatian Grubb (DK/US)
November 6-8 @ Dansekapellet, Copenhagen
ABOUT
This weekend intensive meets at the intersection of biomechanics, somatic awareness, and experimentation. We are bringing movement exercises and frameworks that help participants expand their capacity to move with skill and freedom. Building trust and connection with others will be a through-line as we dive deep and fly high.
Scott Wells, on tour from the U.S., works from a place of deep sensation and attuned partnering, starting with subtle movements and moving eventually to techniques for collaborative, contact-based flying.
Sebastian Grubb will present perspectives and techniques from the Axis Syllabus, which makes experiential anatomy and applied biomechanics relevant for all movers and dancers, perhaps especially when we dance together.
VAVOOM! is presented by Somatic Movement Lab, a new organization in Copenhagen that organizes weekly classes inspired by Axis Syllabus, Body Mind Centering(r) and other somatic disciplines. SML also hosts two annual workshops with renowned international teachers and members-only, collaborative LABs. You can become a member of the organization for the remainder of 2026 for only 100 DKK and get 20% off all events, including this workshop.
