12 month, 5 year Full Funding for All PhD Students

July 23, 2020 -- BIG WIN! After nearly 3 years of our advocacy, Stanford University will finally guarantee full funding for all PhD students! While it's a necessary and important step, it still leaves many grad students' concerns unanswered. See our full response to this news below.

This funding guarantee was a result of graduate students coming together and advocating for what we always knew was possible, even as the administration continued to say otherwise. It shouldn't take a pandemic to keep graduate students from going into debt and scavenging for food just to complete their degrees. And there are still more measures necessary to ensure graduate students and campus workers aren't left behind in this pandemic.

Emergency Grant-In-Aid expanded

Apr 27, 2020 -- Provost Drell approved expansion of existing emergency grant-in-aid funds to "help support graduate students and postdoctoral scholars who are facing unanticipated financial hardships specifically as a result of the pandemic", per Vice Provost Bent. Grants can be requested through the financial aid office up to $5000 per year.
