Last updated: September 28, 2026
Sole to Summit ("the app") is a team step challenge for [ComOps team / participants]. This policy explains what information the app uses and how.
Information we collect
Step and distance data from Apple Health. With your permission, the app reads your step count to calculate your progress and your team's. The app only reads this data and does not write to Apple Health.
Profile information. The display name and team you choose.
Content you post. Photos, feed posts, comments, kudos, team photos, and team mottos.
Feedback you submit through the app.
Manually entered steps, if you add any.
How we use it
To calculate individual and team progress up the mountain
To show leaderboards, team standings, and the team feed
To send notifications about team milestones
To respond to feedback and support requests
Where your data is stored
Data is stored in Apple's iCloud (CloudKit) and is visible to other participants of the challenge as part of leaderboards and team features. Health data stays on your device except for your daily step totals, which are synced so standings can be calculated.
Ask Sherpa (AI assistant)
The Ask Sherpa feature sends your question to Anthropic's Claude AI service to generate an answer. Don't include personal or sensitive information in your questions. Use for learning how to use the app, strategize on how to win the competition, other details of the working of the app etc.
What we don't do
We don't sell your data.
We don't use your data for advertising or marketing.
We don't track you across other companies' apps or websites.
We don't share Health data with third parties.
Data retention and deletion
Your data is kept while the challenge and app are active. To request deletion of your data, email aneshiyer@gmail.com.
