One of the greatest minds of the 21st century, Walo Olapoju is a Nigerian Environmental Biotechnologist.
A polymath with extreme self-discipline, he sees his role in the universe as a cornerstone entrepreneur to usher in the emerging bioeconomy in and for Africa.
He has dedicated his life to education technology & the industrialisation of microalgae on the continent.
Here, you'll find concise answers to common questions about our environmental biotechnology focus, microalgae R&D, and current market offerings. For more detailed information, please refer to our full policies or contact our team directly.Â
Solarium is an Environmental Biotechnology company using gigatonne-scale microalgae farming & processing to drop global carbon emissions rapidly.
The Organism is a brand/trading name for byproducts developed by Solarium. They contain or consist entirely of processed microalgae to solve day-to-day problems better and/or more affordably than what you currently pay for.
See available products at the bottom of this page (the footer).
Owing to microalgae's versatility, we are strictly focused on the research and development of viable microalgal byproducts and gigatonne-scale algaculture systems & technology, while simultaneously rolling out successful byproducts into the market, all to address global environmental challenges, particularly carbon emissions.
Our full mission statement can be found on this page.
Carbon forms the bridge between all organic and inorganic molecules in the universe, and organic carbon is currently our largest energy source.
Currently, we are spending more of this carbon than we’re restoring, and it’s accumulating in a form we can’t use (which is very dangerous).
Microalgae are Earth's natural solution for fixing this imbalance through rapid photosynthesis; by farming them at a sufficiently large scale, we effectively transform atmospheric carbon into organic carbon and process this form into economically viable byproducts.
Yes, we are actively rolling out successful microalgae byproducts into the market. We sell these byproducts by competing with today's standard raw materials & finished goods fundamentally on value and/or price first before environmental impact.
We believe if it can't sell without it, our goal will not be achieved.
While the Use Cases section above highlights general applications and target industries, you can find our currently available byproducts at the bottom of the website in the footer.
Please send a message to us on LinkedIn (link below). We'll schedule a conversation to discuss potential research & development partnerships.Â
We are developing Organic Carbon tokens, backed by verified carbon recirculation through microalgae-based, in-demand byproducts.
These will allow you to invest your own money in taking real climate action and making profits off it. More information will be available soon.
We anticipate offering algaculture systems management (design, engineering, maintenance), consulting, training, and lecturing services to the market to speed up our progress towards our mission. You can also expect to join our farming cooperative to contribute to our gigatonne-scale goal.
More details on all these initiatives will be released closer to their official launch.
