Wind energy is one of the fastest growing renewable energy technologies, and is widely used in the United States. Wind turbines(seen in the picture to the right) use the kinetic energy created by the air, and transform it to electrical energy. Wind energy has low operating costs, and is an extremely clean source of energy. However, the major issue is that wind is an unpredictable energy source. Wind turbines can only generate energy when wind speeds are high enough, which means energy production is limited compared to solar.
