I visited the Philippines for the first time in ten years as a faculty gurdian for the English training program for first- and second-year students of the Faculty of Agriculture, Kobe University, held at the University of the Philippines Los Baños (UPLB). My previous visit was in 2016 for the International Rice Blast Conference (6th IRBC). During the program, I gave a seminar at the Institute of Biological Sciences (IBS). I also visited IRRI, the international institute for rice breeding, and IPB, a crop breeding research institute for the Philippines, together with Dr. Kanamaru, where we had the opportunity to exchange views on plant research. フィリピン大学ロスバニョス校(UPLB)で実施している神戸大学農学部1・2回生向け英語研修に帯同教員として参加し、10年ぶりにフィリピンを訪問しました（前回は2016年の国際いもち病菌学会でした）。期間中はIBS（Institute of Biological Sciences）でセミナーを行ったほか、金丸先生とともにIRRI（イネ育種の国際機関）およびIPB（フィリピン国内向けの作物育種研究所）を訪れ、イネいもち病研究について意見交換を行うことができました（写真は金丸先生より。）。
