[전시 서문]

존경하는 관객 여러분, 그리고 관계자 여러분. 3월 14일 소현문에서 열리는 《미술관에서의 혼돈과 정리》 전시에 초대합니다.

이번 전시는 1975년 이강백 극작가가 당시 20대 후반 나이에 발표한 같은 제목의 희곡을 재편집하는 작업으로, 대한민국 제22대 국회의원 선거일(4월 10일)을 앞둔 시점에 사회적 풍경을 우화적으로 감각하는 또 다른 언어를 모색합니다. 이곳에 모이는 모두는 특정한 혹은 보편적인 유형으로서의 선거와 전시가 서로를 상쇄하거나 서로와 공명하는 알레고리로 작동하는 구조를 탐문합니다.

선거와 전시는 서로 닮았습니다. 유권자는 의견을 표현하는 투표로 선거에, 관객은 전시물을 감상하거나 경험하는 방식으로 전시에 참여합니다. 이는 참여자가 자기 의견을 표현하고 다른 사람들과 토론할 수 있는 일정한 플랫폼에서의 사회적 상호작용입니다. 참여자는 선거에서 정치적으로, 전시에서 문화적으로 무엇을 결정하거나 유보합니다. 선거에서 후보자는 특정 정책의 정치적 상징으로, 전시에서 작가는 특정 시대의 문화적 상징으로 기억되고 기록됩니다. 때로는 사회적 시선을 교환하고 교육적 활동을 촉진하기도 합니다. 사회적 주제에 참여자의 인식을 높이기도 하고, 사회 변화를 이끌어가기도 합니다.

오늘날 선거와 전시는 모두 중요합니다. 미래를 위한 창의적인 사고와 고민을 자극하며, 우리가 만들어가는 세상에 대한 열정과 책임을 일깨웁니다. '정치적 경험'과 '문화적 투표'로서 이번 전시와 선거에 참여하기를 기대합니다.

[김다우 퍼포먼스 안내]

전시 기간 중 3일(3월 17, 24일,4월 9일) 3회에 걸쳐 김다우 배우가 특정한 텍스트를 낭독하는 퍼포먼스를 진행합니다. 이번 퍼포먼스에서는 배우가 극을 재연하는 방법과 더불어 텍스트를 낭독하는 발성과 발음, 그 외 연기를 형성하는 요소와 요소가 관계 맺는 연기 구조에서 이미지를 드러내는 힘과 방법을 살펴봅니다.

Dear respected visitors and stakeholders,

We cordially invite you to the exhibition Chaos and Order in a Museum, taking place at Sohyunmun on March 14th.

This exhibition is a reinterpretation of a play with the same title, originally written by playwright LEE Gangbaek in 1975 when he was in his late twenties. At the juncture leading up to the 22nd National Assembly elections in Republic of Korea (April 10th), the exhibition seeks to explore another language that allegorically senses the societal landscape. Gathered here, we will explore the structure where elections and exhibitions function as allegories that either counteract each other or resonate with each other as specific or universal types.

Elections and exhibitions resemble each other. Voters participate in elections by expressing their opinions through voting, while audiences participate in exhibitions by appreciating or experiencing the exhibits. This is a form of social interaction on a platform where participants can express their opinions and engage in discussions with others. Participants decide or reserve politically in elections and culturally in exhibitions. Candidates in elections are remembered and recorded as political symbols of specific policies, while artists in exhibitions are remembered and recorded as cultural symbols of specific eras. At times, they exchange societal perspectives and promote educational activities. They also elevate participants' awareness of societal issues and lead social change.

Today, both elections and exhibitions are important. They stimulate creative thinking and contemplation for the future, awakening our passion and responsibility for the world we are creating. We look forward to your participation in this exhibition and election as forms of "political experience" and "cultural voting."
