This Privacy Policy describes how Sohm ("the app," "we," "us") handles information when you use the app.
Sohm is a paid, one-time-purchase app with no ads, no account requirement, and no third-party advertising or tracking SDKs. The app does not collect personal information. Its main feature that touches device hardware — the Component Scanner — processes camera images entirely on your device.
Sohm does not collect, store, or transmit any personal information. In detail:
If you use the Scanner tab, the app accesses your device's camera to photograph electronic components (resistors, inductors, capacitors) for on-device analysis.
Photos taken for scanning are processed entirely on your device.
These photos are not uploaded to any server, not stored by the app beyond the current session, and not shared with any third party.
Camera access is requested only when you open the Scanner tab, and only with your permission (iOS camera permission prompt). You can revoke this at any time in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Camera.
Sohm is distributed as a paid app through the Apple App Store. Payment is handled entirely by Apple — Sohm never receives, processes, or stores your payment details (card numbers, billing address, Apple ID, etc.). Values you enter into the app's calculators (Ohm's Law, trace width, reactance, and the rest) are computed and displayed entirely on your device. None of this data leaves your device or is transmitted anywhere.
Sohm contains no advertising SDKs, no analytics SDKs, and no third-party tracking of any kind. The app does not request App Tracking Transparency permission because it does not track you across other apps or websites.
Sohm does not collect, store, or transmit:
Photos taken by the Scanner feature
Values entered into any calculator
Your name, email address, location, or other personal identifiers
Any health, financial, or other sensitive personal information
Device identifiers for advertising or tracking purposes
Sohm is not directed at children under 13. Because the app collects no personal information from any user, this applies equally to users of any age. If you have questions about this, contact us using the information below.
Sohm does not operate a backend server or account system, and does not transmit or store any user data outside your device. There is nothing for us to retain.
