Projects

Monash University STEM Contest 2017/18.

Learning Outcomes and Reflection: I have always looked forward to solve ecological problems faced in India as it is a huge hindrance in our growth. This Project gave me the opportunity to explore deeper into a field I had not known much about - STEM. To start with, I learnt the art of compiling research papers, selecting important points from several, reading about something I had not before. In this world full of Data I find the art of compiling extremely essential and has also helped me with my academics. I have always looked forward to learning new things and familiarizing and adapting myself to different circumstances; building a video, editing it, putting it all together has really been a challenge for me and through this, I acquired the essential skill of coping up with technology and meeting the benchmark. I also realized the grave consequences of human activities on nature and have started propagating the need for social reform along with modern technology which is a perfect blend and the only way to save our Earth!

The Presentation Prepared

Aim: To come up with solutions to solve the environmental and pollution problems in Maharashtra by 2022 as promised by the State Government using STEM.

Verdict: 2nd Place.

NASA AMES Space Settlement Design contest, 2015.

Learning Outcomes and Reflection: In 8th grade, my team and I, Quadrannulos, participated in the NASA AMES Space Settlement Contest in 2015 and won the first prize. We aimed at mining the asteroid belt between the orbits of Mars and Jupiter due to the scarcity of resources on Earth, majorly precious metals like gold and others like silica and nickel. I learned the complexities involved in setting up a human habitat in space such as gravity and oxygen, food and water, jobs and recreation. The project aroused my curiosity about space and space habitation, a future we are moving towards.

Aim: To Design a working settlement that can sustain itself in space.

Verdict: 1st place in grade 8 category, worldwide.

ISDC (International Space Development Conference), 2015.

Aim: To attend the conference in Toronto and present the space settlements followed by several discussions and seminars on the development of space travel and research.

Learning Outcomes and Reflection: This conference was the one of the best experiences of my life. The exposure I got from this Conference has helped me develop into a a better individual. I also got the chance to meet eminent personalities such as Al Globus and Buzz Aldrin. This conference also helped he make friends from all around the world who I am still in touch with!

Cubes In Space

Learning Outcomes and Reflection: My team was selected for the Cubes in Space, where we had to design and formulate an experiment in a small cube which would be carried out in space. We finalized the effect of magnetic levitation in space and vacuum. I learned the factors that need to be looked into when designing an experiment such as the placement of apparatus in a small cube! This project taught me about analyzing the space needed to conduct an experiment and also think on different lines to conduct an experiment in space and get a desired output. This project helped me to gain insight into the atmosphere of space and the aerospace objectives of any experiment.

Aim: To design your cube of 2cm*2cm and present an idea, experiment inside the cube. Selected experiments would be sent to space in a shuttle to facilitate the experiment.

Wharton School Of Business Investing Contest

Participating in the ongoing Wharton School of Business Investing Competition has exposed me to various Stock Exchanges of the world. Studying the various indices, I can better understand the global economies and trends to predict and outline the future movements carefully. Also, this has helped me keep my nerve in intense situations, by relying on our analysis and not falling prey to the short-term volatility of the market.
