We believe that healing happens gently, one soft step at a time. Created by Morgan Ross & Izzy Pyle, this space is built to nurture trauma-informed practices, champion the well-being of children, adolescents, adults, and families, while sharing meaningful therapy resources with others who care deeply, too.
Born out of Morgan & Izzy’s journeys walking alongside young people, adults, and families through their hardest days, Soft Steps Forward is a heartfelt invitation: to slow down, to honor resilience, and to move forward with care and compassion. Whether you're a therapist, educator, caregiver, or fellow advocate, you'll find tools, encouragement, and community here to help you make a difference.
Because healing isn’t about rushing—it’s about soft steps forward. 🌸
A soft step is a gentle, baby step taken toward healing and growth. It's a small but meaningful action that doesn’t require grand gestures or immediate results, but instead focuses on progress at a comfortable pace. These steps might seem tiny in the moment, but each one builds a foundation of momentum, leading to greater transformation over time. Soft steps honor the journey and acknowledge that healing isn’t about rushing forward—it’s about taking it one step at a time, with compassion and patience, until the small strides add up to meaningful change.

Lily carried an invisible weight for years—anxiety, sleepless nights, and memories followed her like shadows. She tried to push through, telling herself she should be strong enough to handle it alone, but the heaviness only grew.
One morning, after a tough week, Lily realized she couldn’t do it anymore. She needed help. So, she took a soft step forward—she called a therapist. It was just a phone call, but in that moment, it was a big step toward healing.
Her first session was quiet, and Lily took another soft step by sharing her story for the first time. Her voice trembled, but the therapist, Sarah, listened with care, making Lily feel seen.
With each session, Lily continued to take soft steps. She learned tools to manage anxiety and began to untangle the emotions she had carried for so long. Slowly, the anxiety loosened, and the sadness started to lift. For the first time in a long time, Lily felt lighter and more in control.
By taking those soft steps, Lily discovered that even the smallest actions can lead to the biggest changes. And with each step, she moved closer to the healing she had been seeking.
