The Soft Skills Solutions© program was developed in response to employers’ needs. They communicated that employability skills are a critical element informing hiring decisions and employee retention. The majority of employers surveyed indicated “yes”, they would be more likely to consider hiring a job candidate that has participated in an “employability skills training program’’, considering that ‘hard skills’ are met.
Soft skills continue to be in demand by employers all over the world. Employers have stated they are seeing a gap in soft skills in their current candidates and potential candidates.
Hard skills are considered technical skills which have been acquired through education, work experience and licensing, as well as other skills that can be measured.
Soft skills are considered those skills that are more difficult to measure. Soft skills help you to be successful in life and your career. These are often acquired through life experiences. They include the way you conduct yourself, your habits, how you interact and communicate with others, your work ethic, and many other skills that we will discuss during this program.
Employers want employees who can manage themselves in a professional manner on the job. At work they need their employees to get along with others, communicate well and problem solve effectively so they can get on with the job at hand. No matter what industry or job you are in, you will need many of the soft skills you are going to learn and enhance during this training. Many employers have stated these are critical and at times can be more important than the hard skills that can often be taught on the job.
