Professor H. G. Feichtinger suggested that, in addition to members of the SOFTA team, experts working in related research areas should also be invited, in order to enrich the scientific programme. It was also concluded that an appropriate title for the workshop needs to be formulated.
Professor N. Teofanov proposed that the duration of the workshop be four days (three nights), while Professor Z. Mihula suggested that it can better be held in the second half of the week, to accommodate participants’ teaching commitments at their home institutions.
All participants committed to providing, by the end of the week, the number of people from their teams who would attend the workshop in Marseille, as well as the number of required single and double rooms, so that Professor B. Torrésani can begin the organizational arrangements. The price of a single room is €105, and the price of a double room is €85 per person.

At the initiative of Academician Stevan Pilipović and Dr. Nenad Teofanov, and within the international cooperation between the Serbian Academy of Sciences and Arts (SASA) and the Macedonian Academy of Sciences and Arts a scientific workshop was organized as part of the GOALS project (Global and Local Analysis of Operators and Distributions), funded through the PRISMA Programme of the Science Fund of the Republic of Serbia.
The workshop was supported by the SOFTA multilateral scientific and technological cooperation project in the Danube region, projects Equations with Singularities through Methods of Functional Analysis (SASA Fund), Theory and Practice of Time-Frequency Analysis (a joint project of SASA and the Austrian Academy of Sciences), and the Provincial Secretariat for Higher Education and Scientific Research.
The workshop, Global and Local Analysis of Operators, took place at the SASA Branch in Novi Sad from October 8 to 12, 2025. Its main goal was to present research results from scientists involved in the collaborating projects and to encourage discussions in smaller groups focused on different aspects of current and future research cooperation.
The conference lectures were held on October 9, 2025, in the ceremonial hall of the SASA Branch in Novi Sad. The event was opened by Academician Prof. Dr. Stevan Pilipović, followed by Prof. Hans Georg Feichtinger (University of Vienna, Austria), who presented his vision of conceptual harmonic analysis through the examples of continuous Dirac bases and mild distributions. Professor Feichtinger is one of the leading researchers in time-frequency analysis, and both his lecture and the discussions he led during his stay in Novi Sad greatly contributed to the workshop's friendly and collaborative atmosphere. The second invited lecture was given by Dr. Lenny Neyt (University of Vienna, Austria), who spoke about the relationship between sequence spaces and various spaces of ultradistributions. Dr. Clothilde Melot (Aix-Marseille University, France) then presented the construction of multiresolution analysis on graphs.
After a short break, talks were given by Dr. Pavel Dimovski (Ss. Cyril and Methodius University, North Macedonia), Dr. Suzana Aleksić (University of Kragujevac, Serbia), Dr. Filip Tomić (University of Novi Sad, Serbia), Dr. Dragana Jankov Maširević (Josip Juraj Strossmayer University of Osijek, Croatia), and Dr. Tibor Pogány (University of Rijeka, Croatia, and Óbuda University, Hungary). The afternoon session featured presentations by Dr. Sanja Atanasova and Dr. Daniel Velinov (Ss. Cyril and Methodius University, North Macedonia), Dr. Snježana Maksimović (University of Banja Luka, Bosnia and Herzegovina), and Ladislav Drážný (Czech Technical University in Prague, Czech Republic).
A special lecture, jointly organized by the GOALS workshop and the Novi Sad MI SASA Seminar, was delivered by Prof. Bruno Torresani (Aix-Marseille University, France) on October 14, 2025. His lecture focused on applications of wavelet theory in electroencephalography (EEG) and magnetoencephalography (MEG).
The workshop brought together 24 researchers from seven countries. The book of abstracts was made available on the workshop website. The wide range of mathematical topics and research interests presented by both speakers and participants encouraged valuable exchanges of ideas and discussions about broader directions in theoretical and applied harmonic analysis. The Global and Local Analysis of Operators workshop gave researchers from Serbia the opportunity to learn about current developments in modern harmonic analysis and to strengthen existing collaborations while exploring new opportunities for cooperation with colleagues from the region and beyond who share similar research interests.

The leaders of all five teams participating in the SOFTA project, together with Professor H. G. Feichtinger, held their first joint meeting via Zoom.
Since the conditions related to the co-funding of this international scientific research project differ across some of the participating countries, each representative first gave a short overview of the situation in their own country.
Following this, the participants discussed potential research visits – the project’s main activity aimed at fostering collaboration. It is agreed that the first meeting will take place in early October in Novi Sad, as stated in the project proposal.
The discussion then continued with plans for subsequent visits and opportunities for future scientific collaboration. The meeting proved to be both highly valuable and successful.
