For this project, our goal was to analyse and document how people interact with the elements inside a museum exhibition room. We meticulously measured every aspect of the space — from the dimensions of furniture to the thickness of walls and tiles on the floor — to create precise, detailed layouts. Our objective was not only to capture the room’s architecture but to bring its human interaction to life.
Our design approach was centered around presenting the room’s layout in a dynamic way. We created five plans and sections representing the space at different heights (e.g., 7 cm, 15 cm, 1 m, etc.). This multi-dimensional perspective was intended to mimic how visitors would experience the space in real life.
Plans were displayed in a semi-circle, allowing the audience to immerse themselves in the design from various angles, as if walking through the room itself.
To add a tactile dimension, I crafted a plaster model of the room, giving visitors a 3d, hands-on experience of the space. The model served as the perfect base for projecting a documentary film—a visual exploration of how people move through the room. By projecting the documentary onto the white plaster, I fused the physical model with real-life movement, creating an immersive experience where visitors could see the space come alive.
The exhibition was designed for active visitor engagement. With plans presented at varying heights and projections bringing the model to life, visitors could explore the room’s design from multiple perspectives, adding depth to their understanding of the space. The response from visitors was overwhelmingly positive, with many appreciating the dynamic, interactive nature of the exhibit and how it allowed them to experience the space in a new way.
