Being a part of Aves Compartidas helped me gain many skills can be applied to different jobs and programs moving forward. The program's emphasis on direct and clear communication with teammates, community partners, and students has helped me become a better leader and communicator. After helping create lesson plans and executing them in the classroom, I now know how to properly implement activities and lessons that are goal-oriented and engaging. The classroom management techniques and conflict resolution skills that working with young kids has taught me also apply to all ages and have made me a better mediator in my own life. On top of all this, my ornithology knowledge has expanded and I'm now able to communicate about it in both Spanish and English.
