It will be good to have your technology set up well in advance of the conference to ensure everything will run smoothly during our 3 days of work. Things to test out in advance:
Computer
Enough working memory to navigate between multiple apps at a time?
Battery / Charging cord
Setting
How is the lighting? Sound check?
Some people might want to connect an external speaker to project without the echo. (I took guitar lessons on Skype for a couple of years, and the sound was always better between us when I had an external speaker.)
Check that speaker volume isn't too high.
Check that your mic is working well (zoom.us --> preferences --> audio)
Do you have things that will be distractions that you can mitigate in some way?
Ideas: Go to classroom/office if there are many distractions at home.
Do you have a comfortable seat or a variety of places to work to change your position (standing, sitting, etc.)
Do you have workspace/pencil/paper/etc.?
This photo shows a suggestion for how to display your Zoom app alongside a browser so you can work within Google Docs and still see people. The Google Chrome Browser does not extend behind the Zoom Window, so you should be able to see most of both apps at the same time. Ideally, if you could have a sliver of the Slack App showing, you could navigate to that, as well.
