Dr. Ayon Chakraborty (Assistant Professor, IIT Madras) is a faculty member in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at IIT Madras, India where he directs the Sensing and Networked Systems Engineering (SENSE) group. Prior to that he was a research scientist in the Mobile Communication & Networking group at NEC Labs America, Princeton, NJ. Ayon is broadly interested in the system-level design of future intelligent wireless systems and sensing technologies, spanning both algorithm design as well as system prototyping. He has regularly published in reputed venues for systems and networking including Infocom NSDI, Mobicom, CoNext etc. and was nominated for the best paper award at ACM Sigcomm IMC 2014. At NEC, he contributed to the spin-out effort of an innovative, lab-grown research technology (TrackIO) for infrastructure-free tracking of first responders in GPS-denied environments and holds several patents in that regard. Ayon earned a PhD in computer science from the SUNY Stony Brook, NY and a bachelor’s degree in computer science and engineering from Jadavpur University.
Somnath Bhowmik (Vice President & India Head - Banking Business Unit, Tata Consultancy Services Ltd) is an industry leader with over three decades of information technology experience in the Banking and Financial Services domain. He is an expert in Technology and Operations in delivering multi-country large programs. As the Vice President with Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), he is leading the largest Banking and Financial Services business as an independent operating unit of over INR 4500 crores of annual revenue. He was the Chief Architect in defining the Business and Technology Architecture for the Restructured Accelerated Power Development & Reforms Programme (R-APDRP) under the Ministry of Power, Government of India. He is the main architect in defining two of the largest financial data warehouses / data lake for RBI -- Centralized Information Management System (CIMS) and Centralized Credit Information Registry (CCIR) towards building the Database of Indian Economy. Somnath is an expert in the latest technology areas such as Big Data, AI, ML, DL, Deep Neural Computing and Quantum Machine Learning. He is an active researcher and a regular speaker in many international Conferences, has few research publications to his credit, and serves as reviewer of research papers and articles for multiple renowned international journals.
Bishakh Ghosh (Pinggy, INDIA) is the co-founder of Pinggy, a profitable, bootstrapped startup founded in 2023 that received the MeitY GENESIS Grant. He earned his Ph.D. in Computer Science & Engineering from IIT Kharagpur in 2023 and his B.Tech. from NIT Durgapur in 2018. He has published papers at prestigious conferences, including NDSS, IEEE INFOCOM, IEEE ICBC, and MobileHCI. He also has two U.S. patent applications and several journal publications, including in IEEE TCC and IEEE TSC. Bishakh's research interests broadly span distributed systems, computer networks, and security. He also explores startup ideas focused on AI-driven automation in marketing, finance, and security.
Argha Sen (IIT KGP, INDIA) is an Institute Postdoctoral Fellow in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at the Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur. He completed his Ph.D. in Computer Science and Engineering from IIT Kharagpur in 2026, where his research focused on advancing millimetre-wave (mmWave) sensing for automotive and human-centric environments. His work spans radar signal processing, machine learning, sensor fusion, and intelligent sensing systems, with applications in driver monitoring, activity recognition, indoor sensing, occupational safety, and autonomous systems. Argha's research has been published in leading venues, including ACM/IEEE IPSN, ACM SenSys, IEEE PerCom, etc. His contributions have explored methods for radar-based human activity recognition, ego-motion estimation, multi-user tracking, and safety monitoring using low-cost sensing platforms. During his doctoral studies, he completed a three-month research internship at Nokia Bell Labs, in Cambridge, UK, where he worked on wearable computing technologies for hearing-loss assessment. He also spent six months as a Visiting Postgraduate Research Student at Singapore Management University, conducting research on event cameras, adaptive event slicing, and event-driven eye tracking systems. He received his Bachelor's degree in Electronics and Communication Engineering from National Institute of Technology Durgapur in 2020. His research interests include mmWave sensing, wearable computing, multimodal perception, and AI-driven sensing systems.
Sujoy Saha (NIT Durgapur, INDIA) is an Associate Professor in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at National Institute of Technology Durgapur. He received his Ph.D. in Computer Science and Engineering from NIT Durgapur in 2015. His research interests include Internet of Things (IoT), intelligent transportation systems, environmental sensing, mobile and pervasive computing, wireless networks, TinyML, and post-disaster communication systems. He has led and contributed to several nationally funded research projects supported by organisations such as IMPRINT, DST West Bengal, and AI4ICPS. Dr. Saha has published extensively in leading journals and conferences, including ACM, IEEE, and Elsevier venues. His research has resulted in practical technologies for air-quality monitoring, smart-city applications, disaster management, and human activity recognition. He has also served as organiser and program committee member for several international conferences and workshops, including the COMSNETS, ICDCN etc.
Partha Sarathi Paul (KIIT University, INDIA) received an M.Tech. in Computer Science from the Indian Statistical Institute in 2003 and a PhD in Computer Science & Engineering from the National Institute of Technology Durgapur in 2021. His areas of interest are mobile and pervasive networking systems, networking systems and their applications, technologies for disaster management, and human-computer interaction. He has more than ten years of teaching and research experience. Currently, he is working as an associate professor in the School of Computer Engineering, KIIT University, Bhubaneswar, India. He has published papers in indexed journals like Ad Hoc Networks (Elsevier), Journal of Network and Computer Applications (Elsevier) and Scientometrics (Springer) and in various reputed conferences and workshops, including venues like MobileHCI, COMSNETS, ICDCN, PerCom, CHANTS, etc. He also published a few book chapters with reputed publishers.
Md. Sarfaraj Alam Ansari (NIT Durgapur, INDIA) is an Assistant Professor (Grade I) in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at the National Institute of Technology (NIT) Durgapur, India. Prior to this, he served as a faculty member at NIT Sikkim for over fifteen years, where he held several academic and administrative responsibilities, including Head of the Department and Faculty In-Charge of Campus-Wide Networking. His research interests span network and cybersecurity, with a focus on peer-to-peer networks, IoT security, software-defined systems, blockchain technologies, and machine learning-driven security solutions. His research contributions have been published in leading international journals and conferences, including IEEE Transactions on Consumer Electronics, Expert Systems with Applications, IEEE Signal Processing Letters, and Image and Vision Computing. He has successfully completed two sponsored research projects and actively contributes to academic administration, faculty development programs, and workshops. He received his Ph.D. from NIT Sikkim in 2021 after completing doctoral coursework at IIT Guwahati. He earned an M.Tech. in Information Security from NIT Durgapur in 2010 and a B.E. in Computer Science and Engineering in 2005. Before entering academia, he spent three years in the industry, gaining valuable experience in computer networks and information security.
