About Our Unit
Hello, fellow dance educators! It is our pleasure to be sharing our work with you. The concepts of Connecting, Exploring, and Growing an understanding of our Identity is the primary goal of this unit. Our mini-unit plan will teach your students how identities are different depending on their culture and experiences. In this unit, we engage students from 6th-8th grade in Chinese Ribbon Dance to also expand their diversity in dance. The unit focuses on the wheel of colors to help students discover more about their identity and their peer's identity. We are SO excited to work with your students even through this virtual experience! Catch you in our videos!

Ms. Sara and Ms. Claudia wish for BOTH teachers and students to be curious and open to learning about themselves and others through a brand new OR familiar dance form. We hope that these four lessons support you in continuing to discover your identity and embrace other identities around you! Have fun!
