Welcome to Social Arts WA.

I’m Karen Christine Greaves, your Art Instructor & Professional Artist.

I am a contemporary artist based in Dawesville and have been actively working in the art world since 1985, with experience across South Africa, the United Kingdom, and Australia. I have been teaching art since 1997, guiding children and adults through structured, supportive, and creatively rich learning experiences. Many families knowing me through ArtatKaren’s, which now sits under the Social Arts WA umbrella.

I hold a Bachelor of Fine Arts and Visual Culture, and my practice spans fine art, education, and community-based creative facilitation. Over the years, I’ve taught after-school art classes, holiday workshops, and long-term programs designed to build confidence, technical skill, and creative independence.

In 2018, I founded Social Arts WA (formerly Brushes, Brunch & Bubbles) to create relaxed, welcoming art experiences for adults — spaces where creativity is about connection, confidence, and enjoying the process, not striving for perfection.

Whether you’re completely new to painting or returning to art after time away, my classes are designed to support all experience levels. Sessions are guided step by step, with personal attention and flexibility to allow each participant to work at their own pace.

At Social Arts WA, the focus is on creating a warm, inclusive environment where you can come solo, bring a friend, or meet new people — all while reconnecting with your creativity.
