22 boys in the age range of 11 and 12
Placed in two groups in Robbers Cave Park in Oklahoma
The two groups were placed in direct competition.
The boys favored their own group and disparaged the other group.
The experimenter required the groups to work together at the end of the experiment and a truce was made between the rivals.
It was identifiable that social interactions reduced the competition interactive methods and accommodated the rivalry to result in the truce.
