Jamie & Greg Townsend

We’re grateful to have Brother Greg Townsend serving as the Director of the La Jolla Institute of Religion, alongside his wonderful wife, Jamie.

A San Diego native, Greg and Jamie recently returned to Southern California after living for many years in a small town in southern Utah, where their four children and growing number of beloved grandchildren still live.

They are passionate about helping young adults come unto Christ and creating a place where everyone feels welcomed, valued, and loved. Greg’s engaging teaching style combines insightful gospel scholarship, heartfelt testimony, humor, and genuine care for each student. Jamie is one of the kindest and hardest-working people you could ever meet, with a heart for serving others that blesses everyone around her.

Together, they love spending time with family above all else. They also enjoy visiting the temple, cheering on the Padres, and making memories at Disneyland. They are thrilled to be part of the La Jolla YSA family and look forward to getting to know each of you.

Sis. Darlene Raymond

Darlene Raymond serves as the Administrative Assistant for the La Jolla Institute of Religion. A SoCal native, she loves helping students feel welcomed, supported, and connected as they grow closer to Jesus Christ. Darlene and her husband, Jon, a retired pilot from Moab, Utah, have lived across the country during their military years and are happy to now call San Diego home. They were married in 1989, are the parents of 5 children and grandparents of 6, and enjoy cooking, the beach, and walks with their dogs.
