UUA Selects UUCR as a Breakthough Congregation

On February 19th, UUCR received word we have been selected as a 2019 Breakthrough Congregation! The selection committee said they were especially inspired by our breadth of vision and our concerted efforts to involve so many people in our own congregation, as well as from neighboring faith communities, in organizing the very first Reston Pride event. The incredible levels of participation in this first event, which had 1,200 attendees, speaks to the degree to which others were inspired by the church’s leadership and felt included. We hope that our groundbreaking work will help the whole Reston community grow more welcoming for years to come.
