COST: $150 per session (Supplies Provided)
Put on your lab coats and grab your mixing bowls! Yumology is a hands-on cooking and science camp, where every recipe is a real experiment and learning happens through tasting, testing, and doing.
Young food scientists will explore the "why" behind cooking as they create fun and flavorful projects like sugar separation drinks, fizzy lemonade, Northern Lights punch, layered slushies, and whipped pink lemonade. Students will dive into the chemistry of a cupcake, make edible glass, and discover transformations through classics like bread in a bag and butter in a jar, learning the science behind how butter is made.
The experiments continue with ice cream in a bag with magic shell, Kool-Aid rock candy, and caramel made two ways, while investigating real food science questions such as why apples brown, which fruits brown the fastest, and how dehydration works through dehydrated applesauce and homemade beef jerky.
Each day of camp includes a snack, created by the students as part of their experiments. To extend the learning beyond camp, every student will take home a personalized recipe and picture book, helping them remember the sciene and recreate their yummy discoveries at home.
Perfect for curious minds and adventurous eaters, Yumology blends science, creativity, and cooking into an unforgettable, hands-on learning experience--where you can truly taste the science.
