오도영 교수는 영국 런던정치경제대학교(LSE)에서 지역 및 도시계획학 박사 학위를 취득했으며, 현재 서울대학교 자유전공학부와 환경대학원에서 도시인문학 전공 조교수로 일하고 있다. 영국 런던정치경제대학교와 홍콩 링난대학교, 부산대학교에서 교육과 연구를 진행한 경험이 있으며, 주요 관심사로는 동아시아 도시의 정치경제학, 포스트콜로니얼 도시화 등이 있다.
