9/15-9/19 Update

Tomorrow we're kicking off our first Books & Bites of the year with our 6th graders!

Due to space limitations, adults are not invited for grades 4-6. To emphasize the event's focus on literacy we have changed the name and our librarian Mrs. Wood will be reading to grades 4-6 to celebrate her last year as Snow Springs one and only librarian.

We've got a BIG VOLUNTEER NEED coming up next week with our

9/22 September Birthday Table, 4 Volunteers, 2 each hour from 11-12 and 12-1.

9/22 Back to School Jam, volunteers needed from 4-7:30 for 30 min to 1 hour

9/24 School Vision Screening, 5 more volunteer needed from 9:15-10:30am

9/30-10/2 Book Fair Volunteer help needed for set-up, take-down, and cashier

9/8-9/12 Update

Thanks to everyone that came out to last week's first PTA Meeting! Minutes will be coming to your email tomorrow  for paid members.

It's the first week since school started that we only have one announcement for the week: Choir Practice starts tomorrow 9/8 from 3:30-4:30 for all interested in grades 3-6. More info on how to join can be found here.

9/1-9/5 Update

We hope everyone is off doing something fun for the long weekend! On Tuesday (9/2) we will be announcing the winners of our membership prize drawing, you have until 9am that morning to pay your membership dues and be entered. Become a member here.

Thank you to everyone that has signed up to be a room parent this year. You should have gotten an email on Thursday letting you know about our mandatory training meeting on Thurs 9/4 at 9:30am OR 3:30pm.

Our first general PTA meeting is Thurs 9/4 at 9:30am. Steve Corry, our school psychologist will be our first Dragon Talks speaker and will be discussing School Resources for Mental Health and Special Ed and Helping Kids with School Anxiety. We will be voting on our proposed budget as well.

The Back to School Jam, our Fall Family Event will be 9/22 from 5-7 pm. Our family event committee has planned it but we need volunteers to make it a success!

8/25-8/29 Update

This week we're kicking off our Membership Drive! Your students will be getting an information flyer at school tomorrow. Any student who brings back a signed form, regardless of family purchasing a membership will get a small prize on 8/26-8/29. Become a member by 10am on September 2 to be entered into a prize drawing for gift cards, VIP Parking and Seating at the Halloween Parade and Christmas Sing and more.

We are also still in need of Teacher Sponsors! We are so close! We still need sponsors for:

Our first Birthday Table of the year is tomorrow to celebrate those with July and August birthdays.

We are supplying volunteers for Hearing Screening on Thursday, August 28. You will be directing classes to the library when it is their turn for screening. If you can help, please sign up here.

Due to popular request, we are resurrecting the Fall Family Event with the Back to School Jam on September 22 from 5-7pm.  We will have live music, lawn games, food trucks, free face painting, and cake to celebrate 100 years of Utah PTA. But we need YOUR HELP to pull it off. Planning is done but we need you to help set up, run the event, and clean up. For more details click here.

8/18-8/22 Update

• We've missed our youngest and newest students these first days of school but are excited for them to join us on Tuesday!

• For new kindergarten parents wondering what PTA is all about, stop by our table during the open house Monday from 10am-12pm.

• There is a Musical Information Meeting in Mr. Alm's classroom on Thursday at 3:30pm for all interested students in 4th-6th grade.

• Next week the PTA needs volunteers for 2 events. Signups can be found here 

  • We need 2 volunteers for our July/August Birthday Table from 11am -1pm, there are 2 shifts so if you can only cover an hour, great, but if you can do both that's even better!

  • We are also helping with the school's Hearing Screening on August 28. We need 2 volunteers to help direct students from their classes to the library from 9:20-11:35 am and 12:20-1:15 pm.

• Our Membership Drive kicks off August 25 and runs through August 29. Information will be coming home with your students on August 25. We need you to become members to continue funding and running our programs. Your membership also helps us maintain our non-profit status. This means we don't have to pay taxes and are able to return more money to our students and school. Become a member by next week and you will be entered to win some fun prizes. 8/11-8/15 Update

It's Welcome Back Week! See you tomorrow at BTS Night 4-6, and grades 1-6 on Wednesday morning for the 1st day of school.
