SnipSnap Screenshot ("we," "us," or "our") operates the SnipSnap browser extension. This page informs you of our policies regarding the collection, use, and disclosure of personal data when you use our extension.
We are committed to protecting your privacy. SnipSnap is designed to operate primarily locally on your device.
Local Storage: Screenshots you take, along with metadata (timestamp, title), are stored locally on your machine within your browser's storage (chrome.storage.local). We do not collect or receive these screenshots on our servers.
Settings: Your extension preferences (image format, quality, ImgBB API key) are stored locally on your machine.
ImgBB API Key (Optional): If you choose to use the "Share Link" feature, you must provide your own API key from ImgBB. This key is stored locally on your device and sent directly to ImgBB by your browser to facilitate image uploading. We do not store or access your API key.
Because we do not collect your screenshots, we do not sell, rent, or share your screenshots with third parties.
If you use the "Share Link" feature, your images are uploaded directly to ImgBB. Your use of ImgBB is subject to their privacy policy.
SnipSnap requires the following permissions to function:
activeTab: To capture the content of the page you are currently viewing.
storage: To save your screenshots, history, and settings locally on your machine.
downloads: To allow you to save screenshot files to your computer.
scripting: To inject the necessary tools for annotating images directly on the webpage.
webNavigation: To detect navigation changes and initialize the capture tool.
Your data is stored locally within your browser's secure storage environment. However, remember that no method of electronic storage is 100% secure.
