Ashlee Martin
Hello! My name is Ashlee. Like many of you, I am an adult learner, having graduated from Ephrata High back in 2009. I am in my third semester of the ASN program here at SJU Lancaster, set to graduate May 2027. I originally began my journey 8 years ago at PA College and took an extended break when I had my twin girls. I am back and ready for this adventure! I am a girl mom to four, a wife, and a healthcare worker. I enjoy learning new things and also planning and hosting events. I served as the Event Coordinator during the Spring 2025 semester and fell in love with the Student Nurse Association and getting the student body involved in activities both on and off campus. I was thrilled to be your President for Fall 2025 & I am excited to serve as your President again, for the Spring 2026 semester. We can't wait to supply you with some awesome events and outreach opportunities!
Koko Rivera
My name is Kolyanna, pronounced like Cole-yawn-nuh. My mother was torn between the names Brianna and Nicole so she decided to mesh them together. I prefer the name Koko.
I have always had a strong passion for science, which led me to pursue my CNA in 2016. That experience sparked my love for the nursing profession. I earned my Bachelor of Science in Healthcare Administration from Saint Joseph’s University in 2025 and I am currently enrolled in the ASN program, working toward my RN degree, set to graduate next spring.
I have worked as a Nursing Assistant across multiple settings, including medical surgical, psychiatric, home care, gastroenterology, long term care, emergency, and hospice care, which has provided me with a strong and well rounded clinical foundation. I am currently employed as an Emergency Department Technician, where I have developed a deep interest in emergency medicine. My favorite part of working in healthcare is being able to provide comfort and support to patients and families during their most vulnerable moments while making a meaningful impact in my community. I never have the same day twice.
In addition to my clinical background, I have spent many years in healthcare registration leadership and bring over ten years of combined administrative and clinical experience. As Vice President, I hope to inspire, empower, and collaborate with my fellow nursing students to bring forth professionalism, compassion, and excellence into the nursing field.
Outside of nursing, I am married and a proud mother of three. I am also a pet mom to my cat, Taco, my bunny, Snowball, and some fish. I am very active and enjoy hiking, working out at the gym, fishing, and spending time at the beach with my family. I am also an avid home cook and love preparing meals for those I care about. Cooking is my love language.
I am a third generation Puerto Rican on my father’s side and a first generation college graduate on my mother’s side. These identities have shaped my values, work ethic, and commitment to service, leadership, and community care.
Jamie Burkholder
My name is Jamie Burkholder. I am in the 3-year BSN program and am set to graduate in May 2027. I work full-time at Lancaster General Health while attending school full-time. I am a single mother of 2 teenage boys, one of whom is autistic, so they fill most, if not all, of my free time.
I hold multiple degrees, including an associate's degree in Surgical Technology, a bachelor's degree in Health Sciences, and a master's degree in Healthcare Administration. My professor would like me to continue my education to pursue my doctorate, and I had not thought about that until he encouraged me to do so; that is a possibility after nursing school as well. My ultimate goal is to work as a nurse in the NICU, in the operating room, or in the emergency department, and/or have a management position in one of those specialty areas.
I have held many leadership roles in different committees and organizations that I have had the pleasure to be a part of. I am proud to be a part of the Student Nurse Association and hope that I can help encourage more students to join and help SJU Lancaster become more connected to create a sense of community and a safe space for our students to be.
Kaitlin Stroik
Hi, I’m Kait! I’m in the 3-year BSN program and currently work as a nursing aide at Penn State Lancaster Medical Center. I’m also a member of Phi Theta Kappa, and when I’m not studying or working, I love staying active—going to the gym, playing pickleball, or running with my dog, Winston. I also teach Sunday school and coach soccer with Iron Valley United Soccer Club.
My goal after graduation is to work as an ICU or oncology nurse, and I’d love to eventually go back to school to become a Nurse Practitioner or CRNA.
