SnagSnap - Privacy Policy

SnagSnap is a snagging and site-inspection app for iPhone and iPad, published by A I K A T E K LTD ("we", "us", "our"). There is no account, no advertising and no analytics. Everything you record stays on your device unless you choose to share it, and we never receive it.
Data stored on your device
Projects, rooms, items (snags/defects), photos and annotations, floor plans, contractor contact details you enter, signatures, your branding (logo and company details), settings, and the PDF/CSV reports you export. This data is kept in the app's private storage on your iPhone or iPad and is included in your device backups (iCloud or computer) according to your own device settings.
What we do not collect
SnagSnap does not send your data to us or to any third party. There are no usage statistics, crash reports, advertising identifiers, location data or contact lists. We cannot see your projects, photos or reports.
Permissions and why we ask
Camera: to photograph defects, only while you are capturing. Photo library: to attach existing photos or floor-plan images you choose, and to save exported report images if you ask. Microphone and speech recognition (optional): to dictate item titles and descriptions. Speech is recognised on your device where your iPhone or iPad supports it; otherwise Apple's speech recognition service may process the audio under Apple's privacy policy. Recognition only runs while the microphone button is active. Notifications (optional): due-date reminders for items, scheduled locally on your device.
On-device intelligence
On supported devices, the optional Improve with AI feature uses Apple Intelligence's on-device model to draft item descriptions and report summaries from your notes. This runs on your device; SnagSnap sends nothing to external AI services.
Purchases
SnagSnap Pro is sold through Apple's In-App Purchase system, as a monthly or annual subscription or a one-time lifetime purchase. Apple handles payment; we never receive your payment details or any personal information from a purchase. You can manage or cancel subscriptions in your Apple Account settings.
Sharing and exports
PDF and CSV reports, contractor work lists, single-item shares and .snagsnap backup files leave your device only when you share them (for example by email, AirDrop or saving to Files), to recipients you choose. Backup files contain your project data and photos unencrypted, so keep them somewhere safe.
Children
SnagSnap is a professional tool and is not directed at children under 13. It has no account and collects no personal information.
Data retention and deletion
You are in control: delete items, projects or reports inside the app, or delete the app to remove all of its data from your device. We hold no copies.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk) about any organisation's handling of personal information. If you have a question or concern about SnagSnap, please write to us first and we will do our best to help.
Changes
If the app ever changes in a way that affects privacy, the updated policy will be posted on this page, with a new date at the top, before the change takes effect.
