SUPPLY CHAIN PROJECTS
Inventory Planning in EV Powertrain Retro fitment for Three-wheelers
Centralization and decentralization of distribution centers can have significant impacts on supply chain visibility. While decentralization can give faster response times, in order to achieve a cost effective network - Centralization is better.
● It can lead to increased visibility and can also help in better tracking and monitoring of goods throughout the supply chain as coordination and complexity is improved.
● Through recommending a centralized model, I managed to reduce annual logistics costs by over $20,000
Transportation & Demand Planning in a Steel Plant
This project focuses on optimizing transportation logistics and demand forecasting for a steel plant. The project uses linear regression to predict demand, incorporates both push and pull inventory strategies, and integrates real-time tracking and GPS to improve supply chain visibility.
●By employing techniques such as Fishbone Analysis, the team provides recommendations to reduce costs, ensure timely deliveries, and improve coordination across supply chain function.
● Using linear regression, the team forecasted a 23.5% increase in demand for tin-coated steel, from 65,330 units in 2023 to 80,714 units in 2024, and a 26.3% rise in color-coated steel demand, from 59,615 units to 75,288 units.
Hospital Location Planning and Optimization for Pandemic Preparedness
This project focuses on optimizing hospital location planning for pandemic preparedness in Buffalo. It uses methods like Factor-Based Analysis and the Center of Gravity approach to identify optimal locations based on factors such as population density, proximity to transportation, hospitals, and pharmacies. The project also applies the Set Covering Method to minimize costs while ensuring accessibility.
The final recommendations suggest placing pandemic response units in less populated zones like Ellicott and East, estimating a total cost of $2 million for establishing the facilities
