Our laboratory aims to develop new superconductors.
In the development of new materials, we approach the new materials through a cycle consisting of:
[ Material Design ⇒ Material Synthesis ⇒ Characterization ⇒ Feedback of Evaluation Results into Material Design and Synthesis ]
New discoveries are determined by the combination of ideas, persistence, and luck. (this is strictly my personal opinion...)
Aiming for "High-temperature Superconductivity"!!
I want each individual to embrace the mindset of a researcher from the very moment they become involved in research, and to discover and experience the joy of research and experimentation.

Notification
The 1st workshop on the Cross-Cutting Synthesis Technology Area for FY 2026, organized by ARIM Japan, will be held. (October 15, 2026 @ Shinshu University; held in a hybrid format—on-site and online)
The 10th Neutron and Muon School will be held at the AYA'S LABORATORY Quantum Beam Research Center (AQBRC), J-PARC, and JRR-3 (November 9–13, 2026). The application deadline is August 31, 2026.

We held a laboratory open house and an event introducing the Physical Engineering Program as part of the first Open Campus of the 2026 academic year. (July 19, 2026)
Prof. Jun Akimitsu, Ms. Masako Akimitsu, and Dr. Muranaka appeared in the 15th lecture, "Electromagnetism and Modern Physics," of the Open University of Japan's specialized course "Physics of Electricity and Magnetism." (Wednesday, July 8, 2026, 18:45–19:30)

Mr. Hino and Mr. Kadowaki participated in the Neutron and Muon School 2025. In this school, Mr. Kadowaki presented his research as a participant in the Muon Beamline U1A course and received a presentation award. (November 2025)
