how to use access arrangements in the assessments

If you have access arrangements for assessments (extra time, use of a laptop, work in a separate room and/or rest breaks) your teachers will know and you should have received a message from the school just before Easter confirming this. Any problems though contact Mr. Shaw.

Use of a word processor- For students who will be typing, you need to pick up a laptop before the lesson from reception and will be given a temporary username and password. You must create a file before you start your assessment (Surname_Forename_Subject name as the filename) and must save your work regularly throughout. These laptops will be set up to print to 6th form reception.

Separate/smaller room- As all assessments are happening in a classroom-sized space and class-sized student numbers (as opposed to an exam hall) most students who had a smaller room won’t need this. In the small number of cases where a separate room is required this will have been organised.

Rest breaks- These will nearly always be in the room, and should normally not be more than 5 minutes to allow for physical rest or mental refocusing. Teachers will log the time that the student has put their pen down for and add it on at the end.
