-Sara Fraker, University of Arizona

As co-author of "Stone Country," I am pleased that the limestone of southern Indiana--and a few words from my text--helped to inspire this beautiful, haunting composition by Maggie Olivo.

"Hi, Said All the Birds" captures the successes and failures of various birds' attempts at courting wrapped within the essence of the long lore of bird courting songs. Young students love listening with intent and creating movement for the individual characteristics of each bird, so beautifully exemplified in her arrangement."
