Illuminating Apologues

"Illuminating Apologues," is a piece commissioned by the Amity Trio.  Olivo worked alongside visual artist- Haran Kim and poet- Luba Winship to create six character pieces based upon animals of their past. 

Miss Marietta's Memory Music

Behind the scenes discussions with the creatives involved in the "Miss Marietta's Memory Music" project. Olivo played violin for the project, produced and written by Debbi Ponella with music by August Fackler.

Founder and creator of the BloomingSongs project. The project features over 60 original pieces and arrangements, over 100 musical artists, hosts teacher training sessions and provides live musical experiences to Bloomington, Indiana families. It has been made possible by grants from The Puffin and Smithville Foundations,  Bloomington Urban Enterprise Association, and the Bloomington Arts Council.

Artists-in-Residence

Olivo has brought in dozen of artists to perform and share music with area students. Artists include: Dr. Raymond Wise, Bernard Woma, Dena El Saffar and the Salaam Ensemble, Molly Jeon, Tafadzwa Matiure, Sylvester Makobi, Wilson Shitandi, Haran Kim, and Tanguero. These artists-in-residencies have provided children with first hand experiences with music of other cultures, music emblematic of their own, and professional music makers within their community.
