Ojai is situated in a small east-west valley, north of Ventura and east of Santa Barbara. It is approximately 15 miles inland from the Pacific coast.

Since Ojai is lined up with an east-west mountain range, it is one of few towns in the world to have a “Pink Moment” occur as the sun is setting, when the fading sunlight creates a brilliant shade of pink for several minutes on the Topatopa Bluffs at the east end of the Ojai Valley, over 6,000 feet above sea level. Nordhoff Ridge, the western extension of the Topatopa Mountains, towers over the north side of the town and valley at more than 5,000 feet. Sulphur Mountain creates the southern ranges bounding the Ojai Valley, a little under 3,000 feet in elevation.

• The Ojai Retreat is 1.5 to 2 hours from Los Angeles International Airport (LAX).
• Door to door shuttles and buses are available from LAX.
• From Los Angeles, take the 405 North to the 101 North. Exit to Hwy 33 at Ventura.
• OR...Take PCH North to the 101 North. Exit to Hwy 33 at Ventura.
• Just before downtown Ojai, go left on Hwy 33 (Maricopa Hwy) at the Vons shopping center traffic light.
• Go left at the next stop sign (El Roblar)
• Go left at the next stop sign (S. Lomita)
• Go left at Besant Rd., just before the Ranch House Restaurant.
• The Ojai Retreat is at the end of Besant Rd. at the top of the hill.

IMPORTANT: Access Ojai Retreat via Besant Road ONLY (main driveway). Please DO NOT attempt to access Ojai Retreat via Tico Road (rear private and gated entrance).
