NEUROSOMA MUSCLE THERAPY

What is NeuroSoma? Unlike regular massage therapy, NeuroSoma® specifically addresses hypertonic muscle spasm, which is created by a nervous system malfunction. It is beyond conscious control, and does not always produce direct awareness of its presence. With a precise and limited pressure, the NeuroSoma® myotherapist stimulates specialized feedback nerves in your muscles, thereby reinstating feedback loops to your brain. The brain can then experience the true condition of your muscles and begin to relax them.

NeuroSoma® treatments restore health and well-being. Whether you are suffering from pain in your neck, shoulders, arms, mid or low back, gluteals, legs, or knees; whether you have been told or think you have sciatica, bursitis, pinched nerve, herniated disc, arthritis, migraines, sinusitis, or any other number of ailments, sick muscle is likely at the root of the problem, and NeuroSoma®can help.

What you feel <http://www.neurosoma.com/muscle.html#Sensitivity> depends completely on the condition of your muscles, i.e., the more spasm, the more discomfort is experienced during treatment. Although the pressure used in NeuroSoma® is comparable to or lighter than that of regular massage, soreness is common for two to three days post-treatment, especially after the first few treatments. This is due to its powerful nature, and to the amount of awakening and change induced by the treatment.

It is important to understand that this is part of the process, and soon your body begins to welcome NeuroSoma®. As the outer muscles become healthier, each succeeding treatment will leave less soreness, and gradually, deeper muscle layers are reached. It is therefore advisable to commit to a series of at least eight treatments. Many changes often occur in addition to the healing of injuries; these usually include increased circulation and improved posture, flexibility, and mobility. The degree and speed of change depend on three factors: the extent and age of your disturbance, the amount of recuperative power released by each session, and the pace at which your own nervous system operates, which varies from person to person.
