This unit was requested by the 2025-2026 group of students. We will dive into some of the atomic structure topics that are skipped in the AP Chemistry curriculum. This is meant as a preparation for students who intend to take honors chemistry in college. The notes and worksheets for this mini unit are taken from Zumdahl and Decoste's Chemical Principles, 7th ed. This is an updated version of the general chemistry textbook used at Smith's alma mater. For a more advanced read, check out Chemical Principles: A Quest for Insight by Atkins, Jones, and Laverman. Older versions of the text can be found online for less than the current version.
