Smith PTO proudly supports the Smith teachers, students and faculty all year long! We provide snacks and small gifts for our teachers and staff and are working to create fun and safe spaces and events for our students! All of this can only be made possible with the help from our PTO volunteers! We would love to have ALL of our parents join the Smith PTO.
By joining our PTO you will be in the Shark Tank which will give you premier access to events and volunteer opportunities on campus! Smith PTO is considered an essential school function so we are able to be on campus this school year. Masks are highly recommended by the campus.
100% of the membership dues paid by parents are used to support programs and resources for ALL of our Smith Intermediate students and teachers.
Whether you would like to join PTO and volunteer as one of our volunteers, or are wanting to volunteer through the school without joining PTO, Forney ISD does have a volunteer training and background check that they require anyone coming on campus to complete.

FISD VOLUNTEER TRAINING
In an effort to maintain safety for our students and staff, Forney ISD requires all individuals who will be a volunteer on campus or within school programs to complete two steps:
1. Complete an online volunteer training module and assessment
2. Once you complete this training, you will receive and email to submit an authorization to conduct a criminal history check.
Both of these items must be completed annually. Forney ISD has practices in place to keep any information submitted through the form or obtained through the criminal history check secure/confidential. Participants will be notified of their status once the background process has been completed. Those applying for approval may also check with a campus office to determine if their participation has been cleared/approved. Individuals should allow a minimum of 5 business days for processing.

Once you have successfully completed the volunteer training presentation and passed the assessment, you will receive an email with next steps for completing your Background Authorization form. Please enter your email address carefully, and be sure to complete all forms accurately.
