Fishing Trips

Lake Cumberland Bass Fishing

Known as one of the best smallmouth lakes in the southeast, Lake Cumberland an awesome lake to bass fish. Lake Cumberland also has a strong population of largemouth bass, Kentucky spotted bass, and striper. Captain Smith is not a traditional striper guide, but commonly catches them most days on the water because of their abundance in the lake. They are a ton of fun to fight and taste amazing as well.

4 hour trip (1-2 people): $350

6 hour trip (1-2 people): $450

8 hour trip (1-2 people): $550

If wanting to use live bait(shiners), clients will be provided a receipt of purchase of live bait and cost will be added at end of trip.

Rods and tackle will be provided by Captain Smith. Bringing your own rods is okay.

Barren River Lake Catfishing

Catfishing trips on Barren River Lake are a ton of fun. Rather you are wanting to put some fillets in the freezer or wanting to take your kids on a fishing trip of a lifetime, Smith Guide Service is the right choice.

4 hour trip (1-2 people): $300

4 hour trip (3-4 people): $350

6 hour trip (1-2 people): $450

6 hour trip (3-4 people): $500

Captain Smith fishes late in the evening and into the night. Cost of trip includes Captain Smith catching bait before trip and filleting fish if clients are wanting to keep fish caught.

Payment includes checks, venmo, and cash.

Barren River Lake Crappie Fishing

Barren River Lake has phenomenal crappie fishing. Captain Smith strictly uses forward-facing sonar to catch crappie on the lake. If you are wanting to have a fun day of catching crappie and wanting to catch some fish for a fish-fry, contact Captain Smith.

4 hour trip (1-2 people): $250

6 hour trip (1-2 people): $350

8 hour trip (1-2 people): $450

Cost of trip includes filleting and bagging of fish if clients are wanting to eat crappie.

Payment includes checks, venmo, and cash.

Hunting Trips

Land Between the Lakes Duck Hunting

Duck hunts on Kentucky Lake and Lake Barkley are always a blast. Captain Smith's boat can fit parties up to 4 hunters. Bluebill, bufflehead, goldeneye, redhead, canvasback, gadwall, shovelers, etc. are all species that Captain Smith has shot hunting LBL over the years. Everything is provided except gun, shells, and appropriate clothing for these types of hunts. Packing a small cooler with food and snacks is recommended. Meeting Captain Smith 1 hour before legal shooting light at the ramp is required.

4 hour hunt (1-2 hunters): $450

4 hour hunt (3-4 hunters): $550

6 hour hunt (3-4 hunters): $650

Completion of the HIP survey and a federal duck stamp with your signature is also required to hunt with Smith Guide Service.
