Lake Cumberland is most commonly known for its great smallmouth and striper fishing, but the lake is also full of largemouth and spotted bass. Early to middle of spring are good times to catch prespawn bass as they start to transition and move up into shallower water. Post-spawn can be incredible on Lake Cumberland as well. It is not uncommon to run into big schools of striper when bass fishing which is always fun. The summer months are good for using forward-facing sonar and targeting bass that are suspended on schools of bait. Rather you are wanting to use Smith Guide Service to practice fish for a tournament or you want to catch your first big smallmouth, Captain Smith is prepared to provide you with a fun day of fishing.
