Mrs. Bunten has been teaching at Santa Maria High School since 2016. Currently, Mrs. Bunten teaches Advanced, Intermediate, and Beginning Band, Choir, and AVID. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Music Education from Central Michigan University. Originally majoring in clarinet, Mrs. Bunten also routinely performs on the sousaphone and saxophone. Mrs. Bunten has performed on the tenor/baritone saxophone with the Friendly Neighborhood Jazz Band, sousaphone with the Saluting America's Band Directors Marching Band at the 2022 Rose Parade, 2023 Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade, and upcoming 2026 Rode Parade, and continues to perform on tenor/baritone saxophone with Central City Swing Jazz Band. Mrs. Bunten is a member of Michigan Kodaly Educators, Organization for American Kodaly Educators, National Association for Music Education, and Southern California School Band & Orchestra Association.
