Mrs. Bunten has been teaching at Santa Maria High School since 2016. Currently, Mrs. Bunten teaches Advanced, Intermediate, and Beginning Band, and Choir. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Music Education from Central Michigan University. Originally majoring in clarinet, Mrs. Bunten also routinely performs on the sousaphone and saxophone. Mrs. Bunten has performed on the tenor/baritone saxophone with the Friendly Neighborhood Jazz Band, sousaphone with the Saluting America's Band Directors Marching Band (2022 Rose Parade, 2023 Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade, and 2026 Rode Parade), and continues to perform on tenor/baritone saxophone with Central City Swing Jazz Band. Mrs. Bunten is a member of Michigan Kodaly Educators, Organization for American Kodaly Educators, National Association for Music Education, and Southern California School Band & Orchestra Association.

Gibb has been working with the Marching Saints since 2025. He was born and raised in the Santa Maria area and graduated with a bachelor's degree in mathematics at Cal Pol SLO. He has been in band for 13 years, participating in the marching arts on snare for seven years in total with three years at Pioneer Valley High School and four years in the Cal Poly Mustang Band. He also has independent marching experience with Gold DBC in 2024 and Broken City Percussion in 2025 and 2026.

This is Shea’s first year working with the Marching Saints. She is from Sacramento, California, but moved to San Luis Obispo to attend Cal Poly SLO, where she’s studying History. She has been in band for 11 years, participating in color guard for seven years in total with four years in the Granite Bay High School Emerald Brigade and three years in the Cal Poly Mustang Band. In addition to involvement in school marching bands, she has taught at a handful of color guard clinics to members of all levels.

David has been working with the Marching Saints shortly after he graduated from Santa Maria High in 2019. He was born and raised in Santa Maria and has been attending Cuesta College majoring in Music to then transfer to Cal Poly to pursue a degree in Music Education or in a related teaching field. He has been in band for over 13 years. He began in the fourth grade playing clarinet and trombone, to then all four years in the SMHS Band in the drumline, into his college years now being a part the Cal Poly Mustang band on trombone.
