MCC Foundation Dulwich Girls Hub 2025-6 flyer
Marylebone Cricket Club Foundation each year provides free training and match-play opportunties to state-school educated children (girls and boys) in school years 7-11. In 2025, there are now 164 Hubs across the country.
All coaching is provided completely free of charge, funded by generous donors (private individuals, other charities and the England & Wales Cricket Board) who wish to ensure that state-educated pupils are offered opportunities to play cricket to a high standard.
Matches are mainly between Hubs and run in the summer term. SMCC normally provides free use of our pitches for at least one day of matches. Each year, for the Boys U14-16 and Girls' squads, there is a national finals day at Lord's, which Dulwich Hub teams have reached in the past.
Many of our players (girls and boys) have attended MCCF Hub training in over the last few years and have invariably said the experience has been very enjoyable.
See flyers above.
Please contact the Dulwich Hub Manager, Simon Talbot, on talby1@outlook.com.
Simon has been coaching junior cricket for over 20 years and was one of the lead coaches in the Surrey performance programme for many years.
Dulwich College Sports Club, Pond Cottages, Dulwich Common, London SE21 7LE.
This is a private members' sports club with a small carpark, so groups using the facilities are normally asked park somewhere on the nearby roads
Surrey Cricket Foundation have again partnered with the MCC and shall be launching 2 x new hubs for boys and girls from state schools to register their interest in being part of the hubs.
The observation days will give our coaches the chance to take a look at players across a 1.5/2 hour period to gauge their impact across the key areas of bowling, batting and fielding drills, this will help them assess their suitability to then be selected as part of a squad of 18-24 kids at each hub.
There are now hubs in Clapham, Croydon, Esher, Leatherhead which are run by Surrey Cricket Foundation and then Dulwich and Guildford which are run externally.
Some key points as a guide.
You must attend a State school
For each of the hubs there will be a Boys U13s squad and an U15s squad, so boys in years 11 and beyond will be too old for the programme.
For the Girls there will be an U14s squad and an U17s squad, so girls in years 13 and beyond will be too old for the programme.
You cannot be in the MCC squads if you are part of an existing Pathway Programme for Surrey or any other county
Winter hubs will have between 1 – 2 weeks of observations / trials to give enough chance for players to be seen by our coaches
There will then follow an 8 / 9 week period of indoor training between January – April 2026 as we work towards an outdoor national competitions between May – July
Yes, of course.
We run our own indoor training through the Autumn and Spring terms.
However, if your child goes to a STATE school and meets the other eligibility criteria above, we highly recommend that you also try to get them into one of the MCC Foundation Hub training courses (details below), because they are very well run, are completely free, and the extra training and matches will greatly help them improve their cricket.
