Prof. Tiago H. Falk is a Full Professor at the Institut national de la recherche scientifique, (INRS), University of Québec, where he directs the Multisensory/multimodal Signal Analysis and Enhancement Lab focused on building next-generation human-machine interfaces. He co-directs the INRS-UQO Joint Research Unit on Cybersecurity and Digital Trust, where research is being conducted to make human-machine interfaces secure and reliable by tackling emerging vulnerabilities to artificial intelligence algorithms. He is an IEEE Fellow.
Prof. Anderson Avila is an Assistant Professor at INRS and a regular member of the INRS-UQO Joint Research Unit on Cybersecurity and Digital Trust. He is the scientific head of the Laboratory for Cybersecurity and Information Integrity (LACSII), where his research focuses on biometric robustness, information integrity, data privacy, and AI-driven methodologies to enhance cybersecurity. He has ongoing projects on robust speaker recognition, decentralized AI training for edge devices, and misinformation. Previously, we held projects on compact spoken language understanding models and anti-spoofing measures for voice biometrics.
Prof. Zakaria Abou El Houda is an Assistant Professor at INRS-EMT, working in the INRS-UQO Joint Research Unit in Cybersecurity and Digital Trust, where he directs the Resilient Cybersecurity Laboratory (RSEC). Dr. Abou El Houda has been contributing to research projects that apply machine learning techniques to intrusion detection systems (IDS), with a focus on improving their explainability and robustness. His research addresses critical challenges in the security of next-generation networks, including 5G and beyond, by developing resilient mechanisms to mitigate emerging threats. His current research interests include AI for IDS, the Internet of Things, and distributed/federated machine learning security.
Prof. Alan Davoust is Associate Professor of Computer Science at the Université du Québec en Outaouais (UQO) since 2018. After training in software engineering in France, he obtained his Masters and PhD at Carleton University (Ottawa) in 2015, then spent two years as a post-doc at the University of Edinburgh, where he took part in large-scale projects on social machines and algorithmic bias. His current research interests include various issues of security, safety and ethics in socio-technical systems. Alan Davoust is co-director of the INRS-UQO Joint Research Unit in Cybersecurity and Digital Trust.
Prof. Mohand Said Allili is a Full Professor in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at the Université du Québec en Outaouais (UQO), Canada. His research specializes in machine learning and computer vision, with a focus on their applications in image and video understanding, and multimedia analysis. His work is dedicated to developing intelligent systems that can extract meaningful insights from complex visual and multimedia data, with a particular emphasis on security-driven applications such as deepfake detection and multimedia spam identification.
