Logo design competition

Under the sponsorship of Faculty of Engineering, Ain Shams University & STIFA, The Smart and Future cities Laboratory for Sustainable urban solution are organizing a students' competition to design a logo of this research laboratory to be used in the website, multimedia, and official papers. The logo should be attractive, innovative, smart, and express the identity of the laboratory. The logo should be original and contains the full name and abbreviation of the laboratory.

The competition was held on two rounds , After the logo Design lecture to make the students prepared and help them in Designing the logo


ENVI-MET workshop

In collaboration with Graduate Engineering school for research are organizing a training to introduce for students ENVI MET program to pave the way for understanding the basic environmental concepts and what is simulation and when it is needed ,This will be through three phases :

1-discovering and understanding the environment

2-Initiating & modelling

must download the software

3-simulation and generating outputs

First session will be held on 1st of April 2021 at 5:00 pm

Digital Fabrication

It starts August 1st and ends August 12th

9 am - 4 pm

This one will contain 2 modules;


The first would be the Digital Fabrication and Smart Home Project:

- It contains different applications that can be applied in a smart home and how you are going to fabricate such products using laser cutter and 3D printing machines with the help of fusion 360 software, moreover, you will have the chance to experience different electronic circuits with different codes that will allow you to interact with your projects and see the results by yourself; such an interesting experience, you will have so much fun.


The second workshop would be the Digitial Fabrication & Sun Follower Solar Panel Project:

- You will be introduced to how solar panel functions, its components and how smart it can be; using electronic sensors, Laser cutter and 3D printing machines also with the help of Fusion 360 Software.


Both modules contain a final project that will need your full dedication to present and submit.

3D Max and Architectural Visualization

It starts August 1st and ends August 12th

3pm - 10 pm


You will be introduced to the art of good composition, basic knowledge of Autodesk 3D max, general modeling techniques, moreover, you will have a quick introduction to corona renders, forest pack, essential lighting techniques, rendering, materials and finally, photoshop and post-production workflow.


You will have a Mentor-assisted session to practice what you have learned; focusing mainly on materials and rendering.

Revit Essentials for Architects

It starts August 15th and ends August 26th

3pm - 10pm


It covers the essentials of Revit through five phases; BIM production, Modeling, Documentation, Presentation and Quality Surveying.


Architects will need to produce mature models and execution drawings, passing by all the topics covered in the workshop.

Lighting Design Fundamentals

It starts August 15th and ends August 26th

9am - 4pm


It contains; theory of lighting, components of light systems, architecture lighting applications, enhancing architectural elements by lighting design and introduction to Dialux Evo.


Then, you will have a lighting design workshop (project - based), design development, lighting analysis and visualization using real light effect depending on Dialux calculations.
