The basis for the selection of the students will be an application and an interview, but also to what extent they are involved in the project work, their personal commitment to project intentions and as we would like to provide equal opportunities, possibly their social background. In any case they should be well integrated in the social community of their school. Abnormality in this respect will definitely be a criterion for exclusion. The teachers either accompanying the students or going to Learning Teaching Training activity for teachers only will be members of the Erasmus team of their school or be involved in project activities in other respects. The preparation of the organizational aspects is in the responsibility of the coordinators and the team member in charge of the LTTA. With the parents we conclude an agreement in which they allow their children to participate in the mobility and that they transfer authority to the teachers in charge. We will use public transport and official airlines and thus guarantee a maximum of reliability, while during the stay the students are integrated in the host families who take care of them and ensure their safety
. All students and teachers who take part in LTTAs have to be involved in the project activities, which is not a real problem because our project is supposed to implicate the whole school although in different degrees of specification. Thus the students will be familiar with the ongoing activities of the project at their school. In addition they will prepare a presentation about their region and school in order to give the other participants an impression of where they come from and what their school is like. Besides they will have a list of observation items as they are intended to give reports to the fellow students and initiate activities together with their teachers according to what they have experienced and what is recommended in the tutorials.
In general the activities during the LTTA will follow certain standardization. The duration agreed on by all partners will be 5 days and these will include practical project work closely related to the host countries core areas. This will be performed in mixed groups of different nationalities to advance the students foreign language competence. Furthermore it is meant that the students get and impression of the hosts culture, their family life and everyday life of the young people in general. Again this is an important objective of the project – getting to know and understand each other in different EU countries with diverging traditions.
The standard of the teachers’ LTTAs will be similar whereupon the items will be slightly different. The focus during these meetings will be on project organisation and adjustment, getting an impression of the schools involved and getting to know each other personally. As the partners have never before worked together in this formation this seems to be very important to create a confiding atmosphere.
