Regina's story:
I have been a part time tutor in the San Gabriel Valley area for over 10 years . I started in 2008 while in Rosemead High School. I tutored children from all ages in English and Science. I went on to pursue an Animal Science degree at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo and graduated in 2014. During my time at San Luis Obispo, I worked part-time as an instructor at a maker-space lab. Upon my return to the SGV area, I pursued my teaching credential in high school Biology while also obtaining my Masters in Science Education in 2017. Since then, I have been teaching Biology, AP Biology, and Anatomy and Physiology at Garfield High School in East Los Angeles. I love what I do and have a great passion for it, which is why I have decided to venture into the professional tutoring world and built Smarter Learning. With the assistance of fellow colleagues I have a current network of certified teachers who are ready to bring A+ education to their students.
Gilbert's story:
I fell into the education field completely spontaneously. As someone who majored in Physics in college and specialized nuclear physics research in my undergraduate years, Physics and Mathematics is truly a passion of mine. My second passion is education. I have tutored Science and Mathematics since 2011. This led me to pursue a career in education, I have been teaching professionally since 2012 where I have gained experience teaching middle school science, Chemistry, Physics, and Math. In 2017 I finally completed my Master's in Science education and my California teaching credential. I am currently teaching high school Physics, math, STEM, and Robotics. Since the first day I stepped into the education field, I have loved every single bit of it. Due to this I am joining Regina in this venture into professional tutoring.
