Test Preparation
For test prep in particular, we’ve found that students benefit most when they are able to set aside enough time to practice fully for the test. This means starting test prep not just several days or even several weeks before an exam, but at least a couple of months earlier so that we can 1) provide the student with enough time to practice the test problems, 2) identify learning gaps that the student needs to address, and 3) provide the student with one-on-one help to address those gaps.
We’ve found that the students who see the most improvement are those who are able to practice the test problems in a real-life testing scenario on a consistent level. To that end, we would recommend the student take one practice test a week and meet with us once a week to go over the exam. Consistency is important for developing and sustaining good habits of mind that are crucial for doing well.
