Directed by Dr. Nguyen Phi Long, the Intelligent Grid & Energy Systems Laboratory (GRIDMIND Lab) conducts interdisciplinary research on intelligent electric vehicle charging infrastructures and sustainable energy systems. The team focuses on leveraging optimization, deep reinforcement learning, game theory, and data-driven operation to advance smart EV charging and vehicle-to-grid services, renewable energy integration in smart grids, and the coordination of power electronics and battery energy storage systems. This work extends to wireless power transfer and mobile charging robotics, smart energy communications and energy IoT, digital twins for energy systems, and cybersecurity for smart energy infrastructure. We develop enabling technologies for AI-driven energy management and smart charging control, evaluate their theoretical and operational performance, build advanced simulation, digital-twin, and decision-making frameworks, and demonstrate scalable solutions for efficient, reliable, secure, and sustainable EV charging services in modern power and transportation systems.
We are always looking for highly motivated students and researchers to join our lab, including undergraduate students, Master’s students, PhD students, and research interns/assistants. Candidates with strong interests in energy, power electronics, smart grids, EVs, AI, communications, robotics, digital twins, or cybersecurity are encouraged to contact Dr. Long with a brief CV/resume.
