Calculation Formula:
The required tonnage is calculated using the following formula:
Required Tonnage = (Volume of the Room × 20 / 12000) + Extra Person Tonnage + Temperature Tonnage + Height Tonnage
Volume of the Room = Length × Breadth × Height (in feet)
Extra Person Tonnage = 0.3 + (0.07 × (Number of People - 3)) [if Number of People > 3, else 0.3]
Temperature Tonnage depends on the maximum desired temperature:
45°C: 0.5
41°C to 45°C: 0.4
36°C to 40°C: 0.3
≤ 35°C: 0.2
Height Tonnage = (Height - 8) × 0.1 [if Height > 8 feet, else 0]
Note: The calculated tonnage represents the cooling capacity needed to maintain a comfortable indoor temperature based on the given parameters.
