To kickstart the project, our team held a meeting with our advisor to establish a strong foundation. During this session, we introduced ourselves, highlighted our individual skill sets, and clarified our roles and responsibilities within the group. We also defined the project’s objectives, identified essential requirements, and explored potential strategies for tackling the tasks effectively. With valuable guidance from our advisor, we gained a deeper understanding of the project’s scope, anticipated challenges, and expectations for each phase. This meeting fostered collaboration, aligned our efforts, and inspired confidence to progress with purpose and clarity.

During Week 2, I facilitated a brainstorming session with the team to generate creative ideas aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). We started by introducing ourselves and sharing our unique skill sets, which provided valuable insight into how each member could contribute to the project. The session encouraged open dialogue, allowing the team to propose and assess ideas based on their feasibility, potential impact, and alignment with our objectives. This collaborative effort set the stage for selecting a project that resonated with and inspired the entire team.

We revisited our earlier brainstorming session and narrowed down three standout ideas for further exploration: a smart lock, a smart farm, and a smart parking system. In this phase, we conducted an in-depth analysis of each concept, evaluating its feasibility, potential impact, and alignment with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The discussions highlighted the smart lock’s ability to enhance security through advanced technology, the smart farm’s potential to boost agricultural efficiency, and the smart parking system’s promise to address urban parking issues. This thorough evaluation provided valuable insights into the requirements and possibilities of each idea, bringing us closer to defining our project’s direction.

After thorough discussions, we finalized our project idea and submitted the smart parking system as our proposal. We expanded on the concept, emphasizing its potential to tackle urban parking challenges by utilizing advanced technologies like IoT and real-time data management. Key features included automated space detection, reservation capabilities, and intuitive user interfaces designed to simplify the parking process. We also detailed the project’s feasibility, its potential to make a meaningful impact, and its alignment with contemporary urban demands. Submitting this comprehensive proposal was a significant milestone, paving the way for the implementation phase of our smart parking system.

Upon discovering that our original smart parking project had already been implemented by a previous team, we recognized the need for a fresh and innovative concept. As a result, we pivoted to a new idea: a smart bike rack system. This solution aimed to meet the increasing demand for secure and efficient bike storage in urban environments. We brainstormed key features such as automated locking mechanisms, real-time availability updates, and mobile app integration for a seamless user experience. After refining our vision, we crafted a detailed proposal outlining the system’s feasibility, potential impact, and alignment with modern urban mobility needs. This change in direction reenergized our team, sparking renewed excitement and motivation to pursue a distinctive and meaningful project.

We began delegating tasks to ensure an efficient workflow for the smart bike rack project. Each team member was assigned responsibilities based on their skills and interests to maximize productivity. I took on the role of material analysis for the bike rack, focusing on identifying and evaluating materials that ensure durability, weather resistance, and cost-effectiveness while considering environmental impact. Meanwhile, another team member was assigned the task of structural design analysis, concentrating on creating a robust and efficient design that maximizes functionality and user safety. With clear roles distributed, our team is now ready to begin the implementation phase with a shared vision for success.
